Summer Sewing Workshop (Ages 6+)

Looking for a fun, creative morning activity during the summer holidays? Our Summer Sewing Workshop is the perfect introduction to sewing for children aged 6 and over.

In this 3-hour hands-on workshop, children will work in small groups of just 3–4, giving everyone plenty of support and encouragement as they discover the exciting world of sewing.

The morning begins by meeting the sewing machine. Children will learn how it works, how to use it safely, and practise sewing their very first stitches. They'll even frame their practice stitching to take home as a keepsake – the very first step on their sewing journey!

Once everyone is feeling confident, they'll move on to creating their very own personalised drawstring bag, choosing from a selection of beautiful fabrics and adding their initials to make it uniquely theirs. Every child will sew their own bag from start to finish, building confidence and learning real sewing skills along the way.

Midway through the workshop we'll pause for a well-earned juice and biscuit break, giving everyone a chance to relax, chat and admire each other's progress before finishing their projects.

To round off the morning, we’ll hod a mini showcase for the parents, where each child can proudly present the bag they've made and celebrate everything they've learnt.

No experience is needed - this workshop is designed especially for complete beginners. With plenty of individual guidance in a friendly, supportive environment, children will leave with new skills, growing confidence and a handmade bag they'll be proud to say "I made it myself!"
